El Rayo Tequila is a mix of tradition and modernity, inspired by Mexico`s rich and varied culture. Its goal is to offer a modern tequila experience that respects its cultural roots. It aims to attract new drinkers.

Co-founders Jack Vereker and Tom Bishop started El Rayo after being inspired by Mexico`s natural beauty and energy. El Rayo, meaning "the lightning," aims to capture this energy and the deep history of tequila-making.

The tequila stands out for not following common trends. It focuses on the natural taste of sustainably grown blue agave. It respects tradition and welcomes new ideas. The brand has two main types. El Rayo Plata and El Rayo Reposado. The Plata is unaged, showcasing fresh agave notes. The Reposado is aged in whisky barrels, adding complexity and woody flavours.
