Ocho Blanco Tequila

Ocho Tequila, Mexico
Agave Spirits
Mexico
40%
50 cl

A 100% agave silver Tequila from the Camarena family in conjunction with Tomas Estes (Cafe Pacifico, La Perla). A luscious, full-textured white Tequila, with beautiful 100% agave flavour integrity On the nose full, ripe Agave opening up to rounded sweetness Slight citrus and marzipan accents. The palate has intense, ‘forward’ Agave flavour on the attack which develops into a ‘high’ sweet fruitiness [reminiscent of an eau de vie de prune] Continues with nuances of pepper, citrus and earth Balanced and smooth despite the intensity of flavours. Finish is extremely long due to its concentration - goes on and on and the sweetness re-visits.

Ocho Tequila

Ocho Tequila

Tequila Ocho was born out of a collaboration between Tomas Estes, one of two Tequila Ambassadors, and Carlos Camarena, a third generation tequilero and now master distiller of Tequila Ocho. It is the first Tequila to designate both the year it was produced and the precise field from which the family grown agaves were sourced. Each batch comes from a different field or rancho contributing distinctive characteristics of that place.

What’s with the name, you ask? Ocho (eight in English) hold an important place within the brand for a multitude of reasons. A few of these are that it takes an average of eight years for agaves to ripen before harvest, eight kilograms of agave to make one litre of Ocho Tequila, and it took eight different samples for Estes and Camarena to find the perfect recipe.

An excellent Tequila, best enjoyed neat or in a cocktail. Such as.....

`Tequila Martini`
60ml Ocho Blanco Tequila
30ml Mancino Secco Vermouth
Garnish with a coin-sized lime zest.
