Jules Gautret Distillery

Jules Gautret Distillery, established in 1847, is named after its eponymous founder and carries with it a rich tapestry of history, skill, and tradition deeply entrenched in the world of spirits. Located in the Cognac and Pineau des Charentes region of France, this distillery has, for generations, crafted drinks that tell tales of its storied past, while also evolving to meet contemporary tastes.

The story of Jules Gautret is one of dedication. The young cooper, Jules, started his venture in a modest setting, producing fine spirits with an attention to detail that quickly garnered a reputation. The name soon became synonymous with quality, and even today, that reputation persists.

Over its extensive history, the distillery has been keen on preserving its traditional methods. At the heart of Jules Gautret`s production is the insistence on using specific grape varieties from the region, harvested and distilled under meticulous conditions to ensure the essence of the region is captured in every bottle. Each spirit undergoes a maturation process in oak barrels, allowing the flavours to develop depth and character.

Their range has expanded beyond their signature Cognacs to include the likes of Pineau des Charentes, a regional French aperitif produced using grape must and Cognac eau-de-vie.

Enjoyed neat or in a range of cocktails such as a Spitfire cocktail.
