Westerhall Rum No. 10
Westerhall Estate comes their Rum No.10, launched in mid-2016 to replace their Westerhall Vintage Rum as part of a range redesign. A great rum for enjoying neat or giving your cocktails a massive burst of well-aged rum deliciousness. On the nose is notes of butterscotch and hints of maple spice. A little rose petal jelly. Vanilla fudge. Honeyed and sweet palate. Baked apples, baking spices and soft wood. Beeswax, maple syrup and manuka honey. Creamy. The finish is long with creamy caramel and a touch of spiced oak.
Westerhall Rums UK
The beautiful Westerhall Estate lies in the South Eastern corner of Grenada; a vibrant, colourful and laid-back island in the Southern Caribbean.
Grenada, known as the Spice Isle of the Caribbean, is a small island at 344 square km and has a population of 100,000 making it a similar size to the Isle of Wight. Despite their sizes, both islands certainly pack a punch!
The Westerhall Estate has been producing rum along with sugar cane, bananas , nutmeg and limes since the 18th century, it is still possible to see some of the original machinery on the estate today.
The waters of Grenada are naturally infused with spices and flavours of the island such as nutmeg, and during the blending process these are naturally filtered into the rum giving it a distinctively Grenadian spiced-yet-smooth taste. It truly is a product of the island.
The rum was historically shipped to Bristol in charred oak barrels to preserve, and even enhance the flavour while giving it its exquisite golden hue.
Aged for 10 years and is great to drink neat.
